The II edition of the Art and Musicology Doctoral Studies Conference aims to focus on research on the transmission of knowledge through the arts as a medium and source of knowledge in the artistic world.

The images and musical documents that have been preserved from Antiquity to the present - all over the world - have made it possible to understand aspects of the social, cultural and religious life of many civilizations and also be the same reflection of these In this way, Art and Music, as resources, have been one of the key elements to be able to understand a culture since it has been the mechanism through which humans have been able to shape and transmit ideas and knowledge. Representations in architecture, sculpture, ceramics, fabric, literature and others are manifestations of the social, political and cultural processes experienced throughout human history. On the other hand, we can see how often the imagination and creative developments of our thinking have been able, through time, to delineate new paths of knowledge and training from irrational elements ignored by the canonical courses of training and education, feeding innovative lines of popular culture and traditions.

The transmission of artistic knowledge, related to image and sound, have provided each culture with an idiosyncratic seal of identification and expression. In addition, it is interesting to see how, despite talking about cultural diversity and different historical moments, there is a link between the different processes of knowledge from Antiquity to the present day.
